Energy costs are rising.
Our commitment goes further.
Keeping the cold chain moving takes energy. As electricity costs increase, we know that how we use that energy matters to our customers.
At CMLS, we are doing everything within our control to reduce consumption, improve efficiency and manage energy costs responsibly. That means investing in the infrastructure that makes a lasting difference, from the lighting above our cold stores to the solar panels on our roofs.
We cannot control market electricity prices. We can keep reducing the energy we need to buy.
The investment behind
the improvement.
Four areas of investment.
A more efficient, resilient operation.
Smarter lighting
Investment in LED lighting helps reduce the electricity needed to illuminate our facilities, supporting more efficient day-to-day operations.
REDUCE CONSUMPTIONPower from our rooftops
Rooftop solar PV generates electricity where we use it, reducing our dependence on bought-in power and our exposure to grid energy costs.
GENERATE RENEWABLE ENERGYKeeping the cold in
Rapid-rise cold-store doors limit the time doorways stay open, helping reduce temperature loss and the work our refrigeration systems need to do.
LIMIT ENERGY LOSSResilience built in
Investment in refrigeration resilience supports the dependable temperature control our customers rely on, alongside our work to improve energy performance.
SUPPORT RELIABLE OPERATIONSLess electricity.
More of it our own.
In 2025, we reduced total electricity consumption by 8.3% compared with 2024. At the same time, rooftop solar supplied around 21% of our electricity, helping reduce our reliance on the grid.
